MICHAEL CHEKHOV INTERNATIONAL TRAINING

Herzlich Willkommen zum Internationalen Workshop

THE BREATHING SPACE

Atmosphere – Creative Individuality – Play

Michael Chekhov Europe Training module 2

May 15-19, 2019

In this workshop we explore the space of a given play. What happens when we dive into the writer’s world and allow ourselves to be surprised by its specific dynamics, energy, language and space? Michael Chekhov’s concepts of “Atmosphere” (“the soul of every piece of art”) and “The Feeling of Ease, Form, Beauty and the Whole” will guide us through this exploration. The workshop will combine the Chekhov Technique with Wilhelm Reich’s approach to organic breathing.

NEXT INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP:

CHEKHOV TECHNIQUE FOR FILM ACTING

Communion with the Audience

Michael Chekhov Europe Training module 5

Whatever we create in front of the camera, we are creating not for ourselves but for others: for the audience. “We give our body, voice, feelings, will, imagination – we give a form of pulsating art to life itself.” (M.Chekhov)

The autumn workshop explores how to use the Chekhov tools in a typical film setting. Actors need to know how to infuse every moment with life and imagination. So, when developing a part for film or TV, what are our intentions and aims? What do we have to give to our audience? Do we enjoy giving? Are we generous?
